Booty for Bridges…..a huge success!  Swimmers of all ages and ability joined the Thornton Masters Swim Team for our Second Annual Swim Fest in the early morning on Sunday August 22, 2010.   An incredible $8,463 in pledges were earned to benefit the Marion Downs Hearing Center and honor Coach Kevin’s daughter Capri, who was born last year with auditory neuropathy.  Miles upon miles were swam to raise money to assist children who are deaf or hard of hearing.  Top fundraiser was Rebecca Novinger with $1,507 in pledges.  Thornton’s own Eduardo Cruz swam an amazing 9,800 meters, just 200 meters shy of a full 10K!  Lexie Spangler topped out at 4,900 meters.    The event was finished with a relay, many prizes, raffle, pizza and beer.   Thank you to all who swam, sponsored, donated or volunteered for our amazingly successful event.   Please make sure to join us next year for a lot of fun raising money for yet another worthy cause.
