Thornton Masters Swimming Program
The City of Thornton is proud to bring you a premier Masters Swimming and Fitness program.  This swim fitness program is for individuals ages 18 and older who enjoy swimming in a structured program.  The program benefits those who swim for fun, fitness, or cross-training, and those who swim for competition.  The only prerequisite is the ability to swim 25 yards (one lap of the pool) without stopping.
This program will improve your physical fitness and refine your competitive swimming technique.  The price of admission to the facility is the only fee for participation, and you do not need to be a Thornton resident.
Since the team’s inception in 1998, it has seen its membership grow to approximately 60 swimmers of all swimming abilities. The program has produced many State and National Champions in its twelve year history as well as several swimmers that have participated at the Fina World Masters Championships.
Thornton Masters is also active in the community. For the last six years, the program has collected and donated toys to the Marine Toys-for-Tots program. In 2009, Thornton Masters ran “Booty for Bosoms” Swim Fest, a lap swimming fundraiser which raised over $4,000 for the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  In 2010, “Booty for Bridges” Swim Fest took place which raised over $9,000 to benefit the Marion Downs Hearing Center.
